Weapons

If you want to frag your opponents into an oblivion of exploding guts then you'd best know the weapons that are at your disposal. They've all got their uses, all got strengths and weaknesses, and in order to win you'll need to be acquainted with and able to use them all. There is really no one 'perfect' weapon so don't expect to win if you master one of them and neglect the rest. Chaingun A Terminator special, pepper your opponents with a hail of lead death! It's a very handy weapon, especially if you have picked up quad damage. Alt fire is a shotgun, absolutely deadly up close, but uses 10 ammo per shot. Disruptor The only gun in play when the mode is Insta. It fires a single beam and accuracy is a must if you are to kill with it. Damage is high in normal mode, and deadly in insta. Alt Fire gives you a zoom scope to aim with, though also makes a loud noise that will give away your position/what you are doing. Smartgun Fires a grenade that will explode on impact, damaging all those in its radius. Great for crowd control if you see a lot of people together. Alt fire lobs a mine that will lurk around for a while, usually until some poor git stands on it and it explodes. Blaster You start with this weapon in all modes other than rockets or insta. Main fire is a ball of energy, Alt fire is a beam of energy. Damage is low on both, but it's better than nothing. Rocket Launcher Fires rockets. They are a little slow moving but can do a lot of damage. They explode on impact so will do damage to those nearby. Alt fire will fire slower rockets, or homing rockets if you've collected them. Hint - Standing close to your own exploding rocket is dangerous ;) Beamgun Just like a lazer gun from all those sci-fi movies you've seen, it fires a continuous beam of energy that is highly damaging. Alt fire peppers your opponents with balls of plasma. Vaporizer/BFG One of the most deadly weapons in the game, it fires a beam that will do a huge amount of damage, quite often killing with a single hit. Has a small radius of damage so may hit those nearby as well. Alt fire is a short range grenade, again highly damaging. This weapon may well be powerful, but you pay a price in very low ammo for it. Violator/Probe You'll not see this one to pickup, you either start with it or not. It's a very close range weapon - basically touching your opponent for it to work - and good in confined spaces and crowds. Flame If you like the smell of cooking Martians then this one is for you! This will burn those nearby and catch them on fire so they continue to take damage. Alt Fire is a napalm burst - it has the same effect as flame, but a much longer range and targets a smaller area.
