Alien Arena Tournaments

Tournaments in Alien Arena are mostly a pretty relaxed affair - there are usually no prizes, and not a great deal of testosterone floating about. We play them purely for fun, it's about pals getting together and getting some big games going. We currently hold 3 weekly tournaments - anyone is welcome to turn up and join each of them, and they just take the format of one big free for all match where the winner is the person with the most frags when the time runs out (20 minutes). You don't need to be the best player to compete - talent is optional, but having fun is compulsory :) Tuesday = Weekly Insta Tourney. Held at 1600EST/2100GMT. The main round of this tournament is always insta, and is usually on one of the newer maps. The fun round is usually rockets, again on a newer map. Thursday = Classic/3rd Party Maps Tourney. Held at 1600EST/2100GMT. This will either be insta or deathmatch and will be played on an old map, or a user created map, that isn't in general circulation. Fun round can be either rockets, insta, deathmatch, or all out assault. Anything goes, but again it will be on an old/3rd party map. Turn up early because you might need to download the map. Sunday = Martian Mayhem. Held at 1800EST/2300GMT. This is our longest running tournament. The main round is always deathmatch played on one of the newer maps, and the fun round is usually always rockets. This tournament is held on a server with a password, so you will need to be in IRC chat shortly before it starts to get the password. If you want your chance to blaze away with a vaporizer at 15 people then this is your best shot! These tournaments are played purely for fun, at most you win some bragging rights, although we don't do much in the way of bragging either lol. There are also other tournaments we run from time to time, occasionally with prizes, but mostly for fun.
