Rewards System

A relatively new addition to Alien Arena is the Rewards system - this lets you build up points that can be used towards 'buying' powerups ingame. How do you earn points? By fragging people! Yep, it's that simple, the more aliens you send into alien hell the more points you'll get. Currently there are 3 powerups available for purchase - Sproing, Haste, and Invisibility. Sproing and Haste are already covered in the Items section. Invisibility will make you hard to see for a while - it's not true invisibility, you can still be seen, but will appear as a blurry 'distortion' rather than as your normal player model. Notice in the picture below you can still see the players image - helped a little by the team colors that were also showing. How many points you'll need to activate powerups depends on the server you are playing on - settings are different for most of them. You'll know when you've got enough points though - the alien head will turn red and you'll hear a noise to alert you. You can see how many points you have currently on the bottom of your screen - the red "<<powerup" text points to it in this screenshot. To set up key binds for your powerups then you need to alter the 3 bottom options on the Customize Controls screen (shown below, again with "<<powerup" pointing at the relative options.
