| Seeing/Connecting to Servers |
![]() Firewalls In order to see servers, and to play the game, you need to make sure that Galaxy.exe and Crx.exe are both allowed internet access. Both these files are in the folder where you installed Alien Arena. If you don't know how to add them to your firewall rules to allow them to connect then visit your firewalls website for instructions. Here's a list of many popular ones, you'll find how to's or support on their sites. On a few of these firewalls - PC Tools in one I remember as being problematic - you may also need to turn off some of the advanced packet filtering rules if all else fails. Again, directions will be on the manufacturers site. Comodo Zone Alarm Ashampoo Windows Onecare Agnitum Panda Lavasoft Sygate/Norton Kaspersky Eset PC Tools Nod32 Antivirus Users of Nod32 antivirus (not any of Esets Security Suites) may also have to add both Galaxy.exe and Crx.exe as exceptions in the "Imon" component of Nod32. Here's a quick guide to doing that : Click the nod32 icon in your taskbar (it's the green and white one on the far left) ![]() This will bring up the nod32 control panel. On the list highlight "Imon" You should now see this : ![]() Click "Setup" and a new pop up will appear : ![]() Click the miscellaneous tab, and then the "edit" button in the "exclusions" section. The screen changes again - you just need to click "Add" here Then you get a good old file browsing screen all windows users are familiar with : ![]() Just browse to wherever Alien Arena is installed, and select Galaxy.exe and crx.exe (you have to do them one at a time) Select okay after doing this, and you're set - you shouldn't even need to restart your computer. |
